Hi,
Did you try Mindat ? If you don't know the right IMA's name, you can use the chemistry search engine with the Ag & Cl elements. Then you'll just have to compare your specimens with the ones on the server.

Jordi Thank you very much! I searched but the site you gave is really great. Is there a place on the forum for understanding more about metal enrichments of ore bodies? I surely will post pics if I find any good specimens. Learned a lot on psudomorphs of some great metals. I also shared your site with the Alaska gold prospectors forum I'm sure some of the folks there will take great intrest in your forum.
Thanks again Vance

Vance,
Folks from Alaska gold prospectors Forum would be more than welcome here. I'm sure they have fascinating histories that we would enjoy if they wish to share with us in the forum: "The histories behind mineral specimens"
We have some FMF member knowing so much about ore bodies, paragenesis, metallogenesis and mineral exploration. Please start a topic in "Minerals and Mineralogy" with a precise request and I'm sure that you will get useful answers.

Mindat has lots of pix of what you are looking for. There are 115 photos of chlorargyrite, 18 bromargyrite, 55 iodargyrite, 9 capgarronite, 112 boleite, and there are a number of other silver halides as well.
Regards
Steve

Well you see Crocoite i was in the dark there,.... as a underground miner I'v seen a lot of minerals and ores. Mostly i worried about the next 8 foot round... drilled, blasted, slushed, and timbered. The time for recognition of these ores and crystals I saw in my mining days Has come about in my later life NOW. Heck I didn't even know there were all those different types of silver "ites" LOL. Thanks for posting I need all the chapters to the big book of Minerals.
Thanks Vance

Rockbanger, Regarding the old info you found, are the silver chloride, gold and platinum all supposed to be from the same deposit? If the analyzed amounts of all three were alleged to be significant, you are probably dealing with a hoax, designed to separate investors from their money.

Hello Alfredo
No the deposits are in the same mountain range and Lets say twenty milles between each. No fooling this old hardrock miner mines up to 7000 ft deep, silver gold lead zinc copper moly. sad thing is i didn't collect a lot of specimens from all those different localities and ore types.
