I am unable to make it to mineral shows but once a year I make it the world's largest gift bazaar at the expo center in Portland Oregon. There are several booths that sell stones and minerals all of varying prices even though it's the same stone. I found a labadorite, didn't buy it wish I had, only $6, it was small of course, 1/4 the length of a pencil as wide as a nickel then I found a booth selling labadorite for more than twice as much for a much smaller specimen. The vender claims it was because his were cut into cabochons for jewelry making, is this pricing just? This guy was also selling Lapis for $20 an ounce, I wanted to buy some but didn't know if that was reasonable either.

Also I purchased for $8 a nice ammonite fossil, I found someone selling one of the same size, not whole but cut in half, for $50 for both halves of the fossil.

The booth I thought had the best prices was the booth selling minerals as "healing" stones, I got some nice flourite from that booth for $5 I will show it later, I haven't photographed yet.

And the one thing I wish I had enough money for was a labadorite stone the size of a small watermellon, can't remember the price but it was close to $200
