Nice Baryte. If you own more Peruvian minerals don't hesitate to publish them at FMF. I have the Jaroslav Hyrsl's book Peru - Paradise of Minerals on my desk so I am aware there are a lot of good specimens in your country.

Please, keep posting.

Hi Gianfranco and hi to everybody!
First of all I wonder about this very Italian name, Gianfranco: any Italian ancestor? I know Peru very well because a (she!) friend of mine is Peruvian, she lives in Italy now, but she is a "Cuzquenha". Therefore I know perfectly Peru is a paradise for minerals, I found and bought many specimens there, and I have got and read too the great (and big!) book of Jaroslav! Then I hope something new is found in this wonderful country!
Greetings from Italy by Riccardo.

Riccardo,

I´m glad you like the Minerals of my country. My parents put to me " Gianfranco " only because they liked the name, I have no Italian ancestry. But I know part of Italy, specially Milano. The next time I go expect buy some native Sulphurs and other great Italian minerals.
The book Perú - Paradise of Minerals is from the " Andrés del Castillo " museum, right? I went to that museum this year and I thought it was wonderful, their specimens are really unique, rare and they have a really good size.

Thanks for commenting here.

Regards, Gianfranco.

Hi Gianfranco!
Ok, when you come to Milan, you just have to let me know when you are coming and where you will take your accomodation, so that we could have a meeting! And, by the way, I like the Peruvian food as well! "Arroz con Pollo", "Ceviche" and "Mazzamorra" are among my favourite Peruvian foods! Of course I know a collector of minerals who has a shop and a good collection of Italian specimens, some 20 km away from the city! In this forum I can't tell you his name, but I will let you know him!
Greetings from Italy by Riccardo.

Hello Riccardo,

I don´t know when I'll be back in Italy, but anyway we will be communicating through this forum. I also like the Italian food such as "Pizza", "Cotoletta alla Milanese", "Polenta", "Ravioli", etc. They are delicious, almost as much as the Peruvian food ;-) .

Regards, Gianfranco.

Hello!
Today I will publish an Acanthite with Silver and Quartz coming from:

"Uchucchacua Mine, Oyón Province, Department of Lima, Perú"

In this piece the Aesthetics dominate all other possible aspects. The Acanthite is uncommon by its gray-blue color, in addition it haves a fine native silver wire with a bright gray color. This specimen also haves a bit of Quartz on the back.

Best regards,
Gianfranco.
