PostPosted: May 05, 2007 09:09    Post subject: Epidote, Val di Viù

Hello,
For some time I have had two specimens of epidote from Val di Viù in my collection. I have tried, but failed, to find an article on the minerals of this particular alpine location, which is near Aosta. Maybe the Rivista Mineralogica Italiana has covered this subject, but their website has no searchable index of published topics. Could someone point me in the right direction?

Hi Joan,

Thanks for your kind comments, we love to receive your visits on the Forum!

BTW, as you be Spanish speaker, why you don't register in the Spanish Forum too? We got a lot of interesting topics there, so if you be in you will receive one e-mail for each message published as you already receive by your register in the English Forum.

About val di Viù I already sent a message to Roberto Appiani, editor of the Rivista Mineralogica Italiana (and great photographer). He will probably help us.
I'm sure that Carles Curto also could help considering his encyclopedic bibliography.

Jordi

I have no notices about Val di Viu. We haven't samples from there on our collection.
Maybe the Gruppo Mineralogico Piamontese could you help about the locality and its minerals.

Hi Joan,

Guido Mazzoleni an Italian geologist and active mineral collector, supplied some info about val di Viù. BTW, I assume that you can understand Italian language, that's why I publish the text in the Guido's language:

More infos coming from Guido Mazzoleni about val di Viù, always in Italian language.
If some one needs the translation of this text to English language just send a note to the Forum and I will do the translation.

Jordi
