| Hey guys, I live in southwest Washington, where it's just a bunch of basalt, and I was wondering if there's any interesting localities or notable rock/mineral locations within 200 miles, (the closer the better), and especially quartz crystals but open to any localities. Thanks for reading!

Check out Washington Mineral Council...Walker Valley and North Bend...also Saddle Mtn has petrified wood

The quartz localities in the Cascades are under snow this time of year. When the mts melt out, Google Hansen Creek, a good place for amethyst and clear quartz.
Closer to you, the Silver Star mountain area has lots of under-explored possibilities. Use DNR's Bulletin 37 to find old mining claims in that area.
