Hi Jon!

Thank you for posting here.

Your photos are rather good. You only need to improve the light source. I think it would be enough. Don't use flash. Instead, two (or better three) fluorescent lamps, from both sides and the third from the top. Then, if needed, edit the pictures a bit with Paint Shop Pro (or Photoshop).

I like your Elmwood calcite. Try taking other shots after changing the lighting as noted above.

Hi Carles,

have been playing around with the lighting as you suggested and I am happier with the results but still along way to go

Specimen is an included Quartz and Calcite on Actinolite, Magnetite and Andradite from
Biggenden, on the outskirts of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. I love the ghostly appearance of the Quartz and the Hematite dusting
