Hi folks,
I took a trip to the famous Senckenberg Museum today. It is rather known for its paleontological collections and its exhibitions about wildlife and biodiversity. So there's only a small section about minerals; but the few specimens were really outstanding. It was hard to take photos there, but though it is a small collection and though my photos are mostly bad quality, I hope you will enjoy the following impressions:

(We know you...anyhow, it IS pretty nice).

As you probably know Tobi, I too, am a big fan of galena. That Neudorf specimen is awesome. Another one that caught my eye was the Japanese stibnite in the last photo. I can't ever remember seeing one on matrix. Very unusual.

I'm glad you like that report from the museum though the lighting of the mineral cabinets made it really hard to take photos. As you can see, the other photos (dinosaurs, snakes etc.) look much more natural than those from the minerals.
