Busily designing and drafting this week for the blue exhibit of azurite suns at the TGMS. THE TGMS brochures were a sharp reminder of things needing doing.

I think we dodged the bullet by having this snow this weekend and not next when we hope to fly to Tucson. Nearly two feet of snow in this part of Pennsylvania.

I would rather give up the potential for a world-class ice crystal collection for the sun and heat of Arizona. Lots and lots of floaters just sitting waiting to be collected.

32 degrees Celsius or 88 Fahrenheit here in Santiago Chile. Will be there later in February, landing in Tucson on the 11th.
Cheers

Tucson 01/28/2016
Already in the sunny Tucson and hoping to have more time during the next days to publish more posts, but just comment for the moment that unfortunately the Fair seems begins earlier and earlier and this year already the 26th Tuesday, four days before the official start of the TCC-Innsuites Hotel , many people were already open or were close to open as evidence the fact that the closest parkings around the Hotel was buzzing when normally that Tuesday there were still many spaces...
More to come...

I have to agree with Jordi - almost everything is open now (Thursday) - the main ballroom which has normally opened Saturday morning opened Thursday morning, jewel tunnel (Rock Currier's business) opened Tuesday at 9am (earlier than normal) and top gem opened Wednesday (which is normal for them). This show is pretty much a three week show now.
Although quite a few individual rooms have yet to open, there are many that have been open since this past weekend - certainly enough to keep one entertained.
Seems that show fatigue will set in by the main TGMS show.

I have been to the Tucson show 5x in the last 12 years, but not to be this year, but thinking about the recent postings, early openings for those already there and set up in the rooms is not unexpected. After all the dealers are there to do business and each day of room or space rental at the motels, tents, and other venues costs them money. To come, set up and then do nothing for several days seems a great waste of time, energy, business and costs them money.
The other dealers, locals, and early arriving out of town customers get the best chance to do business before the rest of us. Also not unexpected.
BOB KERR does make a good point that fatigue sets in for some by main show time; I know of several folks that actually leave by main show time as their main interests are in the tents and store room areas. CHEERS.......BOB
