Hi Mike. Thank you for the compliment. As you know, my photography method is very simple (straight forward) and with no expensive equipment.
Why some people choose the route of deception rather than hard work will always intrigue me. I am sure this chap could have used his artistic skills to a better use :-)

It appears that my guess for this specimen (P1290780.JPG) was correct, Chrysocolla. Please have a look at this similar specimen https://www.mindat.org/photo-201797.html

Here is a double terminated quartz specimen with an unknown mineral on. We have a few specimens with the same mineral on (not very common), but not nearly as nice as this one. Can anyone help identify this mineral on the quartz?

Hi Tobi. I hope you will understand that I have no intention to tamper with this specimen. I also thought about heavily included calcite.

Another oddity from Brandberg; calcite with aggregate balls of epidote?Even though I have seen these type of specimens every now and then, I still consider it as an oddity. I am not absolutely sure that the balls are epidote.

Another oddity from Brandberg area. The small dark crystals appear to be epidote. If it is, I have seen similar in calcite and in quartz from this area, but never in this size. I have never seen epidote in this form yet. I will appreciate your input.

My only input is anecdotal, Pierre. I have often found that association in the trap deposits where I collect. Quartz, prehnite and epidote. The radiating structure is interesting.

Ras Greeff says that he thinks it is pumpellyte Ca2MgAl2(SiO4)(Si2O7)(OH)2•(H2O)

Why not, but it could be also some species from the Chlorite Group. Hard to say without analysis...
