For the last two years, Kyle Warrington, a Colorado Springs collector, has been finding some interesting new fluorites. The specimens come from the east side of Pikes Peak, El Paso Co., Colorado.
Attached is a photo of a specimen in my collection and a couple of photos from Kyle. More information can be found in the July, 2019 issue of "Mineral News".

Very pretty with those corner colours. Cant help wondering if fluorite adds traction for those hill racers:)

The crystals with the blue tips are beautiful, very rare to see.

When you say 'Pikes Peak', do you mean the actual mountain by that name, or the Pikes Peak Batholith that is a much larger area around it? I just ask as a lot of the topaz labeled or discussed as from 'Pikes Peak' often comes from areas around, but not of, the mountain, etc. However, there have been nice finds ON the mountain itself.

These come from an area not likely to be accessed by the racers!!

Yes, the mountain. The fluorites come from an area on the east side of the peak.
