Steve, I've really enjoyed your paintings, but for some reason they are reproduced very darkly on the forum. Love the technique. Keep it up.

Thanks Vic. The paintings are dark anyway, but the main problem is that computer screens vary a lot and what looks good on one doesn't on another. The other thing is that they look better on a dark background like you can set up on Mindat.

This week's artwork - phlogopite on tridymite, Henderson's Quarry, Ngongotaha, North Island, New Zealand - Watercolour...

Really impressive artwork Steve, but why not photograph these pictures instead of scanning them? Obviously the scans are all much too dark.

Here are a couple of more recent paintings. The first is a Californian tourmaline, the second my first attempt at a cut stone. The second is still wip. I ran out of time last weekend and intend to finish it over Easter,
