Sure: I'm dealer and I created and I manage this Forum and I have no problems with Gail and Peter's comments although relating to another dealer, for the reasons mentioned in my message above.

If you feel uncomfortable here with Gail or Peter's texts or my bad English, you have a very easy solution: just drop out. You would feel better, same as us.

Enjoy life stumpy, it is short, but very nice! ;-)

If you are being funny, then fine. If you are being rude to the owner of this site, then not fine.
I know what Jordi is saying, I also respect that he is making an effort to write in a foreign language.

Well now that is a challenge. What I believe Jordi is trying to say is that it is well recognized that he is a dealer; in spite of that he does not regard mentioning other dealers as competition and in the context in which Arkenstone was mentioned it is not only okay to do so, but such mentioning is widely practiced on the Forum. At least this is the way I interpret his message.

Don't worry Gail, just a bit of joshing with Jordi, referring back to the previous discussion on foreign languages!

On a serious note though, there does seem to be a bit of an unhealthy relationship in the States especially between dealers, high-end collectors and the mineral journals. The dealers charge daft prices, the collectors are more than happy to pay them, and the journals whip up the whole thing with breathless show reports, full-page ads (ex-Moremoney Thansense collection, ex-Fat Halfwit colection, etc., etc.), sponsors, dealer/collector deification.

This forum seems to be in danger of turning into a mutual backslapping club, with any opinion that isn't in line with that of the prevailing wind(bags) ruthlessly quashed. Endless photos of happy faces at shows are all very well, but where is the meaty mineralogical discussion a la Mindat? How about fewer obese bozos and a bit more Bayan Obo?

I think that people want to see who goes to shows, and I also spend quite a bit of time adding minerals in. But the truth is, there are many reports on minerals everywhere, the people have been an attraction for many...they might never make it to a show, or they wonder who goes to the shows. I have had many people tell me they like my reports. I mean, heck....anyone can do a report on a show, so get to it! ha ha.
I figure the more the merrier, and the scientific reports will be sure to have a huge following too.
So, since you seem to know a bit about shows, please add a report so I can relax and enjoy perusing it too?

stumpy - is it really so hard for you to interpret English as written by non-native English speakers? Jordi is responding to your unfavorable-sounding comment about free advertising for a particular dealer, and says that he feels he's in a position to comment because he's a dealer himself. The tone of your postings seems negative, perhaps unnecessarily so and hopefully not intentional.

I was wondering how long it would be before the sisterhood waded in. Well you can stick your finger in the dyke, Tracy, but you can't stop the inevitable flood! Science will triumph over trivia!!

Can someone translate this into English please?

I find nothing in your posts that is scientific, so I guess you've triumphed over yourself. Congratulations!

Best regards,
The Trivial Sisterhood

Same as in the past ( https://www.mineral-forum.com/message-board/viewtopic.php?p=11745#11745 ) stumpy loves too much polemicize, and as here is not a Greek agora, at this point I prefer block the unlimited list of replies of this thread.

On the other side, as the text and ideas of stumpy (when is not polemicizing) seems very interesting to me I will split the posts of this blocked thread, and with the Stumpy's text above I will start this new thread -> https://www.mineral-forum.com/message-board/viewtopic.php?t=1291

To do it takes time, so please stumpy don't start a new topic yourself to continue the controversy as you did in the past ( https://www.mineral-forum.com/message-board/viewtopic.php?t=1119 ) This time I will do it myself for you! ;-)

Jordi
PS: excuses for my bad English in this post, I should write my texts very fast before stumpy starts a new fire ;-)
