Sphalerite - (Zn,Fe)S
Galena - PbS
Marmatite - Iron-rich Sphalerite
Marmite - a milder form of Vegemite

Pure sphalerite is ZnS and colorless...with increased Fe or Mn it gets progressively darker. Marmatite is generally applied as an informal name when it gets opaque...about 8 to 9% FeS

Vegemite rules!!!

Try google for each -- use streak, hardness and fracture as search terms.

Marmite / vegemite - streak=brown, hardness=1?, fracture=none.

It's actually very easy to spot the people who put marmite on their toast each morning because they're the ones wearing argyle jumpers and sitting in the corner at the pub poking at their i-pads on Fridays after work because they don't have anyone to talk to...
