It is apparently tradition to introduce yourself as a newcomer here on this site. I was already a visitor of this forum but now I have joined the FMF as a member.
I collect minerals since about 15 years. Until about one year ago I collected more or less the more commercial and more common minerals specimens, the sort of pieces that you find very often at local mineral shows. The reading of an article about fine mineral collecting criteria on the Mindat site by Belgium's most prominent collector and icon Mario Pauwels has opened my eyes, and changed dramatically my focus on mineral collecting.
Since then I try to expand my focus on mineral collecting, but I already found out that it is not that simple as I had expected. I joined the FMF forum because it seems to me a good forum to expand my view on collecting to.

Welcome Peter! We are glad that you are enjoying FMF.
Do you have photos of your specimens that you can share? I am curious to know what your current focus is as a mineral collector.

I want to thank all of you for your warm welcome here on this forum.
I can not share any pictures yet of my specimens Tracy, that is probably something for the future. But you will notice soon in my postings what sort of specimens that caught my interest and on what I (try) to focus now.
