Hello was hoping someone could help me out on figuring out what kind of rock I have. I have a idea but not really sure and any help would be great

Well try to do it on the side not on top of the rock because there a hard layer there.. the flashlight will have hard time to pass thruw the hard layer.. and on your picture you can see that the inside is glowing a bit so wait for more answer from more experienced poeple.. or bring it to a jeweler. But you need more details what country where you found it.. if u live in british Columbia in canada or other place that have nephrite (jade)...than if u live in a place where none have been found....then it might be (jade)...im sure somoene on this forum can help you...

EMPRESIVE, Your photos are not very good as there is a distracting background in each one.

While I am not sure of the identification, I think ASGARIRD's photos are even more distracting on several levels. They also have distracting backgrounds, their identification is suspect, and each time I try to refer back to the original poster's photos (which is the original id question), I get side tracked by all the respondent's photos. In my opinion respondent photos should be kept to a minimum and only used when the example id is a pretty sure thing.

As to the id of the stone, I doubt that it is jade. It may be petrified wood, but not really sure of that. A locality where this example truly came from surely would help in this case. BOB
