Ernie Nickel has passed away, the science of mineralogy is sad.
I copied below the text that I got with the announce of this bad new:
Dear Colleagues,
it is with enormous sadness and great regret that I pass on the message below. I do not need here to reiterate all that Ernie contributed to the science of mineralogy and to CNMNC and its predecessors.
