...Later that evening we went to the Denver meeting for the MAD group, hosted by Marty Zinn and Dave Bunk at Dave Bunk's warehouse. What a blast. 23 MADsters got together for a fun evening.

...Back to the Holiday Inn for some wine, chocolate and late evening fun with lots of stories that had us laughing so hard.
And...about that big bowl of chocolates????

And that was day one for our visit! We had a grand time with all the people and minerals. I was about to wake to a new day and a year older, Friday was my birthday.....will add those photos asap.
It is after midnight, and isn't that when I seem to do my best work adding photos? Now to catch some sleep! More tomorrow! Cheers, Gail

Thanks Debbie, we are up and ready for Breakfast, then a visit to a local collection at someone's home. We are tackling floor 2 and 3 at the Holiday Inn today...and a quick visit with Rock Currier and also John Cornish. Of course my show report will be about Friday tonight, but might make it through to include some of today, Saturday. I took 226 photos on Thursday, and even more on Friday. It is a task to find the photos worthy of putting on here to tell stories of each day, so will see.
So much great wine is making it tough to keep my eyes open into the wee hours of the morning too! We are having FUN.

Glad to finally meet you, Jim and Tom. I know your having more fun than anyone deserves. We're still crying because we couldn't stay at Denver longer, but we had a great time. You guys should really write a book about your outstanding collection. You should have over 500 photos by now and watch out for Dave's booze.

Thanks for everything you've posted, Gail! I'm always impressed how you manage to take time to take all the pictures, much less get them posted online too. After it's all over, I may try to post a few mineral pictures IF, when you're doing, they're anything worth seeing that I photographed and that you missed!

Hello everyone! We are so busy busy busy that I haven't had time to post more photos. Last night I had some wine with dinner and couldn't stay awake to do my photofest, but I got some GREAT shots of minerals and people. I even saw Pete M. walk by while I was chatting but didn't manage to photo him...darn!
Jim and I are having such fun, and we enjoy the people as much as the minerals. There are some wonderful people we are visiting with today, so must run and get going.
I promise I will do a super update when I get home, and will put them on line tomorrow.
Each day is over 200 photos so will pick the really good ones to add on here.

Friday was the start of the main show at the Merchandise mart, a huge facility with main show rooms and hallways full of vendors and dealers.
We woke to a great day of weather and went downstairs for breakfast at the hotel next to the MM where we like to stay, the Comfort Inn.
You never know who you might meet there...

Every year the MAD group, of which I am coordinator this year, puts in a case of each person's favourites. Karl Warning, Jeff Starr, Wally Mann and JIm Houran spent five hours perfecting the layout.
