Hi, all! My name is Laura and an I am very much into minerals. I am a graduate of Stanford (where I studied with Francis Muir among others -- anyone know him?) and now an XRD analyst by day, which means that I use XRD Analyzers a lot to perform quantitative analysis of minerals. I work at the the S.W. Bailey X-ray Diffraction Laboratory at the U of Wisconsin-Madison. Please feel free to say hi to me if you share a similar interest.

Hi Laura, nice name (I have a daugter who's got the same one :-) )

What she doesn't have (nor most of us) is a XRD Analyzer.... Do you have a service open to the public for the analysis or the lab is over saturated like most of my list?

Welcome to the forum

Arturo Shaw

Hi Laura, Welcome.
Say Hi to my friend Frank Keutsch, if you happen to run into him on campus. He is a mineral collector too.
Regards,
Alfredo

Welcome Laura - all of us who participate in FMF share a common interest with you, and that is minerals! :-)

The FMF crowd is great and I'm sure you'll enjoy talking with us as much as we'll enjoy talking with you.

- Tracy
