Here's another quartz specimen i like very much (shown before only on a poor photo), sceptered amethyst from Brandberg:

Amethyst_Brandberg1.JPG
 Description:
Quartz var. amethyst
Brandberg area, Brandberg District, Erongo Region, Namibia
75 x 50 x 40 mm

Amethyst_Brandberg2.JPG
 Description:
Quartz var. amethyst
Brandberg area, Brandberg District, Erongo Region, Namibia

I suppose most of you love quartz sceptres, so here's a closer shot of them (each one measures ~ 25 mm) ...

- Old specimen
- Better photos
- I trimmed the specimen and removed much of the quartz layer that covered the specimen
- Due to a wrong locality provided by the vendor and some talks to garnet experts i had to correct the locality

Thank you. Actually i hate trimming minerals on my own because i always fear the one hit too much that tears of crystals or breaks specimens. But this time it worked, i could remove the schorl's matrix and the hessonite's quartz coating successfully :-)
