Thanks Bob. The face shown in the picture is one of the 3 trigonal faces which is greatly enlarged. The other two faces are reduced to almost nothing. Very strange.

 Description:
Two sharp intergrown pseudomorphs of malachite after azurite crystals. This specimen was part of a collection assembled by John V. Mitchell, who was the superinendant of the Sacramento Mine from 1921-23. The collection was packed away in a basement for the past 92 years.

 Description:
A colorless low angle rhomb of calcite with a narrow strip of included pyrite bisecting each of the three terminal faces. There is a very good article explaining how these form in the Mar/Apr 2015 issue of Rocks and Minerals authored by none other than FMF member Peter Richards.
