I just read a post about irradiated fluorite from China. The purpose is to give a vivid blue colour. Can anyone please tell us more about this practice?

Thanks for the heads up Pierre, I wasn't aware that they had started irradiating the fluorite. I'll be checking the fluorite out a little closer this year in Tucson.
