Dioptase from Gautala. Dioptase is notoriously difficult to photograph and achieve true color rendition due to inherent sensitivity of the camera sensor. Both of these pieces were photographed under identical illumination with minimal post capture editing. The natural color of the two specimens is actually quite different.

Thank you Tobi. I have been on the lookout for a wulfenite from the type locality for quite some time now. There are very few on the market here in the U.S. I found this one in Tucson (actually Laura found it and brought it to my attention). As soon as I saw it, I knew that I shouldn't let this one get away.
