And with a second look, the matrix doesn't look quite right for Book Cliffs, especially in the third photo. James is right, the reddish brown crystals (if they are crystals) look like siderite.

I'm having trouble seeing the crystallography, but this is a dead ringer for baryte from the Book Cliffs area, Mesa County, Colorado. The baryte often forms slender prisms like these. If you look do ...

Nice finds Sante! I particularly like the stibnite/senarmontite and the combo piece from Elba. I hope the show was a success for the dealers, despite the crowd restrictions.

I did some physical distancing in the eastern Utah desert last week and collected this celestine cluster in red jasper, with associated calcite. 8 cm x 15 cm; the celestine cluster is 4 cm x 5 cm.

Vic! Welcome back. Those are some beautiful specimens. I much prefer crystals on matrix to loose crystals, and I've very seldom seen quartz specimens from that area on matrix.
