To confirm what Roger wrote this morning:

The rounded balls that you can find on and near the beach of Cap Blanc Nez (France) were all identified by XRD as pyrite.

This looks like a sulphide that was (partially?) etched out of some white matrix (a carbonate of some kind?)
Maybe the etching process is responsible for the surface color of the sulphide?

Some zeolites always have been a pain in the b*t when it comes to IDing them.
In this case, the stellerite is orthorhombic, the stilbites are monoclinic, so an XRD ...
