With it being on the side of a surface rock does that mean that the pocket has collapsed and that's all that's left or would it indicate what's below the surface in the area

I was walking to the creek today and realized that water was flowing under where I was walking and there was holes where you could see the water. Attached are some of the nearby rocks and the creek.

I found a lot of lead shot from shooting targets in the field up the hill from the creek in the same area I found this piece of quartz. Would that indicate it came from the same area?
