Thank you for the information. It weighs 3 lb 1.5 oz = 1403.301395 grams and is still oily V's the above pieces that fit in my ultrasonic cleaner which removed much dirt and oil.

Chalcedony is a form of microcrystalline quartz and this looks like quartz, so it might contain chalcedony. I have no idea where it is from as it could be from millions of different places

Are all of the mines in the Tri-State area now permanently closed? As per the U. S. health codes. Any Museums or visitor centers open. I know a lady that worked at one of the mines as did her father.
