I am also in Tucson this year having visited most shows since 1991. I am also astonished by many of the prices of relatively ordinary specimens of common minerals. But it is not only a question of inc ...

Another very good guide is the Simon and Schuster's "Guide to Rocks and Minerals". This is one of the best field guides in my opinion for the new collector. It has very complete information ...

It is very rude to photograph a dealer's specimens without asking. Many dealers prohibit photos because thieves take photos to set up what items they want to later steal. So, Matt is treating these ...

I want to caution people on commenting about the prices. This year one dealer stopped allowing photographing in their room because of last year's carping. If you want to get mineral reporting like i ...

Interesting Fluorite and Sphalerite association. Are the Sphalerites a dark Orange or more of a black color under normal lighting? It's somewhat hard to tell as there appears to be Orange backlighting ...

Tobi you can upload/attach several images in one post. On the subject of your photos I like the Elbaite from Paprok. Interesting watermelon color zoning. The Beihilfe Mine mine reminds me of Fluorite ...

Really interesting Chalcopyrite on Ferberite. From the Angle it was hard to tell if it was Chalcopyrite or another mineral possibly due to the coating on it creating an illusion of transparency.

Great quality Emeralds on display there. Clusters are not common to find on the market as well. Usually single crystals are marketed on matrix.

Excellent Chivor pieces. My favourites have always been from Muzo or Chivor mine personally from Colombia.

Out of curiosity I was looking at the pricing for even small microcrystals on matrix from ...

Ed you can post up to 10 images per post rather than three per post. I was wondering if you could tell me what kind of camera and perhaps lighting you use to take photographs of your specimens?

I see quite an emphasis on Calcite. Are you prioritizing or specializing in Calcite for your species ?. Are they also self-collected or simply acquired?

Thanks for posting pictures.

Colombian emeralds also share some controversy especially wi ...

Thanks Pierre for sharing your report. It's interesting how they clean up quite well. Seems like a pretty remote area to collect in. Perhaps not many collectors know of this spot?

The spessartine is very beautiful. Maybe a darker background (gray) would fit better with the matrix. Anyway, your photos are very well.

I like the Covellite's though. They are ...
