Friends I am scheduled to make a trip this summer to a village about 45 miles northeast of Lake Victoria as part of an Engineers Without Borders project. If I can sneak away for a day or two, I'd like to do some mineral buying or collecting. Anyone out there have knowledge of any mineral markets or collecting areas in this region? The nearest towns are Kakemega and Kisumu. For security reasons I will not be traveling freely in Nairobi. I'm tempted to take a week to travel to Tanzania, but that''s a long shot.
