Actually i don't like gypsum/selenite that much, this is my only specimen of that species. But it is from an older find (1980) from my "homeland" here in the north of Hesse, so it is a welcome addition to my collection. It came with two older labels, here's another photo of the specimen together with them:

It's been a while since I made my last mineral collage. But here's a new one showing gem minerals from my collection (well, except for the emerald from Austria, I sold it to another collector but kept the nice photo):

Tobi,
I really like your galena (GroßeBurgGALXX.JPG, page 28) from Große Burg Mine, what a cool specimen, reminds of the galenas from Neudorf. Of course, I also like the Riemvasmaak (RiemvasFLUO.JPG, page 28) fluorite as well, can’t get enough of those.

Hi Jamison, there are two differences between galena from Große Burg Mine and from Neudorf:
1. The ones from Neudorf are more lustrous than those from Große Burg Mine.
2. I can afford a good specimen from Große Burg Mine ... ;)
Here are two calcites from the series "Old specimen, new photo":
Mineral: | Calcite |
Locality: | Buick Mine, Bixby, Viburnum Trend District, Iron County, Missouri, USA
|
Dimensions: | Specimen height 7,5 cm |

Finally, there are some new specimens that I can present here. I'm still busy getting good photos, but this here is a "teaser" ;) I guess you all know that feeling when you got new minerals for your collection, when you take photos of them, make your own labels for them, make database entries for them and most of all - when you enjoy to put them into your display. And while I'm still working to integrate them into my collection (I discard other specimens and replace them by these better ones), I want to share this pictures which expresses the feeling of a pleased collector who is happy to add some new stuff to his collection. Here's the first of the new specimens - needle quartz with pyrite from Peru:
Mineral: | Pyrite, quartz |
Locality: | Alimon Mine (Animon Mine), Huaron mining district, Huayllay District, Pasco Province, Pasco Department, Peru
|
Dimensions: | Specimen 6,5 cm |

Finally, my new Rogerley fluorite. (Actually looking much better than on the photos, the crystals are vivid green, transparent, twinned, daylight-fluorescent and damage-free):
