Dear Mr. White,
In deference to the non-commercial bias of The Forum, I didn't explain about the Miner's Inn. The Miner's Inn is a cabin located just outside the entrance to the Pala Chief Mine and below Jeff Swanger's home where guests can stay, tour the Oceanview Mine, and participate in a fee dig of the tailings from the Oceanview. The cabin is located on Chief Mountain and from the front porch one can see the Stewart Mine and the Tourmaline Queen Mine across the canyon and the city of Pala, California down in the valley. Jeff Swanger says it is 23 miles from the Pacific Ocean.
Warmest regards,
Don

Deck behind Jeff Swanger's home. Jeff and his fiancée, Donna, were perfect hosts cooking wonderful meals for us and taking us to the Pala Casino. When I was a kid in grade school we used to play "King of the Mountain" on the playground at recess. I admire Jeff because he is living out his dream. He really is "King of the Mountain," and I hope he hits a million dollar pocket some day. |

Don - That was AWESOME!!! ...and that is coming from someone who has done Tucson Show Reports for the last decade.
Not sure how I missed your Tucson Show Report - but it made for a really fabulous motivator for me to get started on my Tucson Reports. Your photos are very clean and clear and you managed just the right people to mineral ratio for me ;-)
I would love to meet you if you come out this year...
...I also love the Oceanview photos, I am one county away in theOC - Jeff is the best - I also enjoy the Himalaya.Dig when I'm in that area.
Thank You for the time and effort - and I agree Aisha & Gail - great motivators!
Robyn
PS - I added one of my favorite shots from the Inn Suites show...think the Fedex man is worried? ;-)

Hello Robyn,
Thank you for your kind remarks about my Tucson show report. It was my first. That is a great shot of the dinosaur and Fedex man.
Aisha and Gail have both been inspirational to me.
We could not have had a more gracious host when we visited Jeff at his Oceanview Mine.
I look forward to meeting you and seeing more of your pictures.
Regards,
Don
