Great quartz crystal. Its size and perfection are splendid and that unusual face near the top makes it much more elegant. Congratulations!

Thank you very much, Carles, getting such a commendation from you always means that the specimen must be really good from an advanced collector's point of view!
Smoky quartz has become one of my most favourite minerals during the last years. I really like this huge quartz group, it looks great on display next to my other large specimens from Kara-Oba/Kazakhstan (13 cm, https://www.mindat.org/photo-577424.html) and Galenstock/Switzerland (10 cm, https://www.mindat.org/photo-713298.html).

I know this can be a controversial topic but I think a black background would improve the look of your beautiful Elbaite specimen.

I come back to your quartz - good quality with large size, and the overall shape. Everybody would love to have it too.
It is a nice specimen.

Another new specimen - with an unusual photo! I tried to get a good photo of that Austrian quartz crystal, but I lost the struggle, no chance to capture that completely transparent and highly lustrous specimen :-( But instead of getting frustrated I chose to present the specimen through this other kind of photo. It does not do the shape and overall beauty of the crystal justice, but at least it demonstrates its amazing transparency:
Mineral: | Quartz |
Locality: | Grieswies, Krumlkeeskopf area, Hüttwinkl Valley, Rauris Valley, Zell am See District, Hohe Tauern, Salzburg, Austria | |

Dimensions: | Crystal height 6,5 cm |

Impressive group of magnetite! I'm a lover of the octahedral habit.
Keep the deep red cinnabar crystals covered before they get dark. Unfortunately I failed to do so many years ago :-(

Carles Millan wrote: | Impressive group of magnetite! I'm a lover of the octahedral habit. | Thanks guys :-) I also love octahedral crystals and thus I like those Bolivian magnetites. There were so many specimens from that locality during the last years, but it's hard to find a specimen with so many large AND undamaged lustrous crystals. I'm glad to have found this impressive specimen!

I think all of them are light sensitive, but there are plenty of knowledgeable people in the forum that can answer such question much better than me.
Good luck!
