Love that Japanese Andradite! I'm curious to know if anyone has done any research into the cause of the iridescence on the garnets?

Thanks Jamison. There is an article about the garnets in an older issue of Gems and Gemology on the GIA website. Search for andradite and japan.

Very nice alpine quartz cluster. The chlorite is an inclusion IN the quartz and not a coating on it, right? I love clear quartzes, especially from the Alps, but I'm not a fan of chlorite coating on the quartz crystals. However, I like it as an inclusion, and the Schin Gorge is famous for nice chlorite phantoms, so I guess your specimen is also one of them ...?
