I love clear quartzes, especially from the Alps, but I'm not a fan of chlorite coating on the quartz crystals. However, I like it as an inclusion, and the Schin Gorge is famous for nice chlorite phantoms, so I guess your specimen is also one of them ...?

9.0 x 7.7 cm | Wow, what a beautiful California classic, very aesthetic specimen :-)
I've seen a lot of these wonderful elbaites in the recent ExtraLAPIS issue about California, for me they are among the most desirable and beautiful elbaites at all (together with good specimens from Brazil, Pakistan and Afghanistan).
