The mines at Rush Arkansas produced a wonderful array of minerals including this smithsonite pseudomorphing dolomite. 6 x 7.5 cm.

This post reminded me of some lovely micros I have from there, with bow-tie or dumb-bell shaped crystals. These are distorted crystals without sharp external faces (except at a very small scale), but they preserve the overall morphological symmetry of smithsonite.

Found on an Arkansas table several years ago this example was different from all the rest.
