So much has happened since my last entry. I have been to a number of places looking for crystals. On one of these trips I found an exciting, large pocket with phantom quartz as well as a few smaller pockets. When I have an opportunity, I will share a few more of these outings. This past weekend I visited a new area and found a few small pockets that yielded some pretty crystals. Here are a few photos of this trip.

Pierre
It is always a pleasure to discover your mineral hunt photos.
I hope to see new ones in the future.
You are really lucky to have these marvels so close to your house.

Thank you Philippe! I appreciate your comments.
I visited the Paarl mountain 2 weeks ago and was surprised to see the dam so full as the Western Cape is experiencing a drought. (right at the moment there is rain falling :-) )

Hello Pierre, lovely to see the water and the green. Namibia also had some good rains and we'll be driving out to the Spitzkoppe mountains on Saturday. Will post some photos after our return. Regards to Riana.

Last Saturday, Riana and I left to go digging crystals on a remote farm a distance from Ceres. We were driving about 20 km from home, in the Theronsberg Pass when suddenly we saw a creature walking across the road in front of us. It was a dog! We were overwhelmed when we saw the condition of the animal. As we pulled to the side of the road, the dog came straight to us and lay under the car refusing to come out. Just then, another vehicle approached. The dog refused to drink or eat anything. Rassie and Malinda phoned their vet; we loaded the dog in our car and took it to the vet, who put the dog on a drip and gave it all the injections and care it needed. On Monday we fetched the dog and she is now our dog. We call her Kosbaar, which means Precious. You can read more about her progress here: https://kosbaar1.blogspot.co.za/
After leaving the vet, we drove all the way back to the farm and still had a good few hours to remove lots of crystals from a large pocket I discovered recently.

Dear Pierre,
I nearly cried when I saw the pictures of that poor dog :-( I love animals, especially dogs; and as a child of dog breeders I grew up in a house full of dogs, they were family members and I learned that dogs are the most loving and lovable beings in the world. My heart always breaks when I see such pictures (and I saw things worse than this ...), all the more because only a few of such stories have a happy end like this one. There are so many evil things that humans do to animals, and I can't find words for my hatred against people who are cruel to animals.
All the more it makes me happy to see people like you, your wife and that kind-hearted couple Rassie and Malinda. I would have done the same and besides all our discussions here about digging crystals and presenting minerals I want to tell you that you are wonderful people!
Salute to your wife and to Rassie and Malinda, when you see them: There's a guy far away in Germany who admires you all! That you named that wonderful little fellow Kosbaar (I needed no translation, it's Kostbar in German) raises my admiration for you.
Simply great, Pierre, made my day though the first view into your post made me fight back my tears.
Thank you :-)

Thank you Am. I hope I am not wrong to assume that most people would have stopped to help the poor animal?! Best regards:-)
