Yes it is. There are portions not fully included in the calcite.

Is this new to your collection, Mike?.......from the relatively new find? I saw some specimens recently with calcite in addition to the quartz and chalcopyrite with minimal hematite. Nice photo and specimen.

It is a new addition to the collection. It is supposedly from a recent find. Glad you like the photo and the specimen.

Great Ichinokawa classic in an impressive size!
There are so many Chinese stibnites nowadays (though many of them are nearly perfect and often much better than the Japananese ones) that it is a pleasure to see such a wonderful classic specimen from Japan. You can be proud, I don't know many collectors who own such a museum-sized Ichinokawa stibnite!
Regards
Tobi

Thanks Tobi! It is unfortunate that this classic stibnite has been overlooked and forgotten by some collectors when the Chinese stibnites hit the market. We were fortunate to obtain this piece at a local show. We were told that it was originally from the collection of Dr PA Foster of Los Angeles. He was a noted collector during the early twentieth century.
