AGAB is a non-profit association (according to Belgian law).
It receives no subsidy from the authorities and lives only on the recipes of its INTERMINERAL Show.
We have an excellent contact with the academic authorities of the University of Liège, to the point that since 1997, we have created a 1000 € Prize to reward an excellent student in Geological Sciences of the University of Liège, either in mineralogy or in paleontology.
The 1st prize was awarded in 1998 to the young Frédéric Hatert, currently professor of mineralogy (and member of the IMA) at the University of Liège. Professor Valentin Fischer received the same prize in 2009 for his work in paleontology.
See http://www.agab.be/
Intermineral itself offers minerals and fossils like many other shows. However, two notable aspects can be highlighted.
Many visitors come in Liege to see DR Congo minerals which are a feature of our Show. This is a consequence of the fact that Liège was a city that had many relations with the Belgian Congo before 1960.
Meteorites are also very well represented at a level much higher than other shows.

Small tribute to the AGAB
Thanks to the kindness of Mr. Roger Warin we publish here the special edition of his MinBul devoted to commemorate the 50th anniversary of "his" Fair. Is in French language but still... 😉
