PostPosted: Apr 07, 2020 11:54    Post subject: Scheelite from China

Good day everyone,

A friend of mine owns three mineral specimens which he acquired in China. The first of these is this large Scheelite. I would like to know if anyone here could determine the locality from these pictures. From what I have seen online, this piece could be from Mt Xuebaoding, Pingwu Co., Mianyang, Sichuan, but I am no expert on Scheelites.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Definitely not an expert on scheelite, but it looks pretty close to specimens from Mt. Xuebaoding; your guess would be mine too.

It is almost certainly from Mt Xuebaoding, - no place else has produced xls this size.

As Philippe and Bob said, this comes for sure from Mt. Xuebaoding.
