The locality is well known in the US. I think there have been some exceptional finds of the quartz in the past. | Seems as if I have to expand my knowledge about U.S. quartz localities :-)

Calcite that resembles a block of cheese. | Mike, you should definitely put a bunch of grapes next to it on display ;-)

I would add an apple instead, they say:

Hello!
Maybe I'm wrong, but I see a kunzite? Is this really an elbaite specimen? Strange!

I am pretty sure that it is an elbaite and not a kunzite. Upon close examination it resembles the crystallographic #309 - Goldschmidt. I could be wrong.

Based on the picture, the habit does look like spodumene, but this could just be the angle the picture is taken from. Spodumene should have very strong pleochroism - does the color darken significantly when you look down the c-axis? Can you show us a picture down the c-axis - this would help ID the habit.

This is for sure an elbaite and not a spodumene.

Looking down the c-axis I do not see a significant color change.
