Mineral: Gypsum
Locality: Mexico
Dimensions: 130 mm x 120 mm x 20 mm | Hi Dany, we won't find out without a doubt, gypsums of that habit and colour are known from several places all around the world, the first that come to my mind are specimens from Australia, Poland and Austria ...
... but IF you know for sure that this is from Mexico, I think the famous Naica Mine could be the source. We often associate Naica gypsum with the giant 12 meter crystals or with the unique water-clear and colourless selenites, but this deposit also produced gypsum of this kind.
Just a guess, but I think it could be from Naica.
Regards
Tobi

Hello Tobi,
I totally agree with you. I would have also thought Australia at first glance. This specimen was part of a lot of Mexican provenance at an "official" auction but mistakes are frequent in the labeling of collections so there will always be a doubt about the provenance of more common minerals.
Thanks for your help and have a nice day.

Quartz – Halloysite, according to the latest information I found on Mindat. This example is more orange-yellow than the yellow ones I'd seen initially.

I agree with Carles, a really beautiful sample from Cabiche!
I love these quartzes and as a quartz collector I hope to add one to my collection. Your specimen is really nice, great addition to your collection!

You might also want to read the topic "Tucson Shows 2022", where you will find several posts concerning these quartzes. Seems to become kind of never ending story:-(
Over quite some time, a single American dealership succeeded in cornering the market - what might explain why the prices of these are generally still extremely high, although literally tons of this stuff have been produced.
Once again, buyer beware - hope you did not pay too much!

Thanks James and minsur for your comments.
I had done several researches on Internet before posting my specimen. I've found this post : https://www.mindat.org/mesg-446817.html with some interesting information.
Dany.
