I got this mineral. I know it's quartz. I don't know what the fine yellow crystals could be. Could it be rhodochrosite? Thanks to everyone!

I think this is Calcite, not Quartz (test the hardness)! The rhombohedrons could be Dolomite.

I agree, this looks like calcite not quartz. A simple hardness test will differentiate between these two common minerals. Also, when submitting questions regarding identification, you should always tell us where the unknown mineral is from, if known. This is a great help in ID.

It looks like Calcite to me too. This post explains how to do simple tests. For hardness if it will scratch glass it could be Quartz, but if glass scratches it then it is probably Calcite
