Hi guys,
thanks for your comments. I'm really in love with my new Spanish fluorite and I just found some time to make my own photos, I think the specimen deserves this little lovestory ;-) Thanks again, Jordi, for a true new highlight :-)

| A very fine specimen of Fluorite, and from a first-rate supplier of fine minerals. That Fabre chap has some really fine specimens for sale and I am always looking at his vault for new acquisitions.

A lovely little quartz and siderite specimen from Grube Büchenberg, an old iron mine in Harz Mountains that was closed in 1970. Comes from an older collection.

My last addition in 2022 - not a quartz! ;-)
But an impressive and lovely 18 cm plate of endlichite from Morocco, I immediately fell in love with this piece though endlichite was never on my wish list. But specimens like this may change or enhance a wish list:

Beautiful - I have quartz from Brazil as necklace pendant, but not polished. :) However, there is a hole in it to be able to use it as a necklace.

Quartz from Brazil is disregarded by some collectors because there's so much of it and it is often used for decoration. I think different of this, if a specimen is good and appeals to me it does not matter if there's plenty of it. And I fell in love with this specimen because it is large and massive, rather clear, without damage and because the inclusions make it somehow special. Other advanced collectors may think this is just a rather boring Brazilian standard quartz, but I love it as an addition to my quartz collection :-)

Thank you, Joseph. It was one of this year's surprises that I added a vanadinite of this type. I never liked them that much (the red ones from Mibladen, yes, but not these from Touissit) but this specimen is better than others I have seen. The quality and condition of the crystals (they're often pale and weathered, but in this case really yellowish and well-defined, though not very large) combined with the size of the specimen made it a love at first sight specimen for me. And love at first sight can be, beyond objective factors, a good decision guidance in collecting :-)

My first specimen 2023, and believe it or not, it is neither a quartz nor a fluorite ;-)
I'm also a fan of rhodochrosite, but good rhodochrosites are hard to get, so I was really happy to discover something from my wish list in our Master Jordi's shop - a small but very beautiful piece of rhodochrosite from the famous Capillitas deposit in Argentina. This little specimen is the end piece of a stalactite. I was searching quite long for a Capillitas piece but nice ones are not easy to find and I wanted such an end piece, not a slice. Once again, Jordi Fabre has exactly what you are looking for :-)
