I know that you are a fan of Mexican specimens Jordi...
Wulfenite and mimetite from the Ojuela Mine, Mapimi, Durango, Mexico. Gouache and watercolour on black card. Steve Sorrell specimen.

I was recently commissioned to do a painting for Prof Pete Williams, current IMA-CNMNC chairman, for his retirement as Professor at the University of Western Sydney. Many of you would know Pete.
Because of the work that he has done on the chemistry and mineralogy of the Dundas crocoite mines, a painting of crocoite seemed appropriate.
Here it is.

My last painting for the year. Fluorite and aquamarine from Erongo, Namibia. Painted using water-mixable oils on black card.

Thanks Ed. I did have one problem though. I dropped paint on the carpet. Luckily as it is water-mixable, it was easily cleaned up. Standard oil paint would not have been so easy!

Very good, you used one of my favorite colours - greenish blue.
