One of the best known German pyromorphite locations before the major finds of the Bad Ems district were made, was the St. Josefsberg mine near Rheinbreitbach. The mine´s name later changed to Virneberg (type locality for pseudomalachite as well). Today the Rheinbreitbach pyro´s are not that famous anymore but Virneberg is still a classic, sought-after locale.

Michael has a stunning collection of German minerals, I often visit him and he has become the main source for my new specimens during the last years.
