Thanks very much James! I actually sent that very page to one of specimen owners, it's such a great resource!

Hi, Niels. How are you?
I like systematic collections and I really appreciate you baryte collection, as well as the superb quality of your photos.
Also, being a lover of 3D images, I am so trained to look at them that it takes me less than a second to focus them. You can imagine my very pleasing surprise of today to see these beautiful fluorites so well reproduced.
Thank you for this nice gift you give us and "please, more...", if that is not abusing your kindness.
Congratulations and a warm greeting from Gavorrano.
Sante

Great work, I hope to see more :-)

Nothing new here for 9 months - this is far too long for a favourite fluorite thread ;-)
I think this specimen from Xianghualing Mine in China must have a place here, it's the latest fluorite that I added to my collection and I would call it the best fluorite specimen I ever had:
Mineral: | Fluorite, Calcite |
Locality: | Xianghualing Mine, Xianghualing Sn-polymetallic ore field, Linwu, Chenzhou Prefecture, Hunan Province, China
|
Dimensions: | Specimen height 18 cm, largest fluorite 3,5 cm, largest calcite 5 cm |

Tobi - you are correct, it has been quiet here for too long. I think some of us have been in hibernation for a while, however!
Few mineral shows and not much travel, but I did make it to the "Mini-Tucson" show in early April and came back with this one.
Mineral: | Fluorite and Quartz |
Locality: | Blue Circle Cement Quarry (Eastgate Quarry), Eastgate, Weardale, North Pennines Orefield, County Durham, England / United Kingdom
|
Dimensions: | 9x5x3 cm |
Description: |
From the recently established Lady Annabella Mine, located in the old Eastgate (Blue Circle) cement quarry. Recovered in August 2020. |

Another find at the recent "Mini-Tucson" show. This location produced some interesting specimens about 30 years ago, but I have not seen anything since. This one came from an old collection and was in a dealer's "double-keystone" room. I usually don't spend much time looking at this sort of stuff as there's a reason that most of it is being offered at very inexpensive prices (at least by today's standards). Once in a great while there's an exception.
Mineral: | Fluorite on Pyrite |

Please mooooooore!!! :-)

Danke! I just feel lucky that I was in the right place to acquire a few things like this when they were still available! A little piece of mineral collecting history from around 50 years ago!
