That would be fantastic and I would really look forward to it. It would be great if the Munich Show could assemble the great specimens from the museums and private collections - now all you need to do it find them (I do wonder what else there is out there that we do not know about. hidden in the back rooms of the great European museums or in private collections?)

If you need anything from my modest collection of Spanish material it would be available, of course.

I was glad to visit Mineralientage, it was a nice show, although I didn't find everything I expected to find.
I believe every country should be represented, because all of them have something interesting to offer. Well maybe except Monaco, Vatican and a few others, for obvious reasons.
I have a question for everyone: What did you acquire from the show?

A few photos of this year's show, starting first with the European Classics exhibit. In general, I would say that the exhibit was strong in some areas such as English minerals, Kongsberg silvers, and French fluorite, while lacking in other areas. As mentioned by Jordi, there were few Spanish localities featured, almost none of the recent output from from Romania, and nothing at all from Russia. I will assume that the selection depended largely on the willingness of specimen owners to participate, but what was present was of incredible quality.

Now seriously, amazing European Classics show and not only for Lyckberg's calcites (hope those are already back here in pristine condition) but your specimens too. And it was nice to meet you in person finally.

And now for the second part, some random photos from about the show.

As always a very good show. Lots of nice minerals, and a lot of big difference in the pricing too! There where a lot of "new" things from Morocco, which indeed is a pleasent thing for me. The Spirifer group from Poland had as always excellent specimens from Mibladen (Vanadinites and Wulfenites specially) From the Bou Azzer area they had some really nice Erythrite, Roselite, Calcites and Skutterudites. From Imilchil new Titanites on Ortoclase, Garnets and Prehnites was on sale.

Jordi himself have always something really nice things from Morocco. And other dealers also had some geat things like the new Gersdorffites. Very different priced and some of the dealers very high priced.

Emanuele Marini from Demineralia had some great Gersdorffites, probably the best in the show.

But as most of you have mention before, the really blowminder was the European Classics. Some really interesting and beautifull minerals was on display there.

Lots of great people, great beer too and also many peolpe I think. I had to leave early Sunday morning, but I guess there where hot in the halls that day!

Is time for me to finish my participation in this thread. Of course we still expect more photos and infos from other FMFers but let me add my last five cents.

To be brief: great Show, clearly consolidated as the number one in Europe and the number two of the world, not really far of Tucson Show. The division of four pavilions is also a great success permiting everybody attend the topic they prefer.

Two main highlights in this edition. Number one was the great exhibit of European Classics with a fabulous ensemble of specimens never joined before. Considering the importance and the character unique of this exhibit we did a video of each Show Case, and during the next days we will publish them here to keep a main reference of this exclusive exhibit. The downloading will be slow because the videos are heavy and it takes time download them first in YouTube, so maybe some post will be published between the videos but when I finish to publish the videos I will group them so they will keep as an unified reference.

The second highlight are, of course, the mineralogical novelties. I disagree with other comments I read about the lack of novelties. The Huanggangliang Iron Mines are in my opinion one of the major arrivals in the mineral world in the last years. The list of outstanding species from there is starting to be long and for what I know and for what some analysis in course shows, it seems that it could be still much longer. For the moment this mine is giving formidable Ilvaites, Arsenopyrites, Hedenbergites, octahedral Fluorites, Prase Quartz, Helvites, Genthelvites, Garnets, Rhodonites (one of they with crystals over 25 cm!)… so a lot of new stuff, and Munich Show has been, in my opinion the Show where the major number of species of this mine were offered to the mineralogical community.

Add to this many other novelties here and there, small novelties yes, but that all together made a very interesting frame. The large crystals of Arfvedsonites, some with small crystals of Zircon, from Imilchil, Morocco (is the first time that they appear there), the new Elbaites from Naipa Mine, Alto Ligonha, Mozambique, the curious Aragonites flos ferri from Val Trompia, Italy, the excellent new Quartz with Azurite-Malachite from M’Cissi, Morocco, the Valentinites (small crystals, but nice) from San José Mine, Bolivia and many others that I don’t saw or I don’t know it, made a great Munich Show, one of the best I can remember. Munich Show 2011 is dead, long live to 2012 Munich Show!

Then you have missed at least 200 minerals because I have taken more than 900 pictures. ;-)

Don't worry, take your time, I am processing them and I am only about the middle or so. But please tell us when they are ready; I am looking forward to see them all.

Mine will be (if I finish processing before they "finish" me) in the "Spanish Side", I will left a link here.

And I hope we could talk in another occasion (Colmar, perhaps..)
