| Gail, the fellow on DSC_0317.jpg - is this statuette a genuine old one or a modern replica? Do you know where it is from? In Germany's most famous historical mining area Erzgebirge (Saxony) there is a long tradition of building miner figurines, is this one maybe made there?

Tobias the piece is a Pewter Statue, Saxony circa 1870. That is what it says on the card we got with it. It was in the Obodda collection, but I don't feel it is particularly old, more that it depicts a miner circa 1870, not that it was made then. the price was quite low, so doubt it is an antique. '
