This is a fun little example of epitaxy - galena octahedra on corners and sides of an earlier cube.

Galena on matrix with sphalerite.
Picher Field, Tri-State District, Ottawa County, Oklahoma, USA.
45 mm matrix, galena is 14 mm on edge.

Hi Ru,
Very interesting crystallization.
I think we just call this phenomenon, growth with parallel axes of two different formations.
But it is indeed a "homoepitaxy."
