Too sad.... He is part of the history of mineralogy, I always saw him selling nice minerals, even in my remote past...
Rest in Peace Chris, my deepest condolences to his family (as well as to Chris Hughes)

I am terribly sad to hear that Chris has passed, I feel as though there is a terrible loss to the world. He and I would share long stories about life, our experiences and the people we have met over the years. I truly feel the world has lost a man who had a caring nature, a fun spirit and a zest for minerals that was long in depth and passion.
This is just hard for me, I was truly very fond of the man and his soft voice, the way his face would light up when I came to see him. He was a joy.

Chris was a friendly and knowledgeable man who always took a lot of time to explain facts and information about his minerals when I would visit him. He will be missed by many.
Rest in peace, Chris.
Don

Knew Chris a loooong time. The only thing bigger than his mineral warehouse was his heart!

In the 40+ years I've known Chris, he was always up to date on world mineral finds and had high quality specimens at hand. Major loss to the mineral community! RIP Chris!
