The recent Summer issue of Gems & Gemology has a superb article by mineralogist/gemologist Nathan Renfro entitled “Digital Photomicrography for Gemologists” available online at https://www.gia.edu/gems-gemology/summer-2015-digital-photomicrography-gemologists

Also, for those interested in learning more about inclusions in minerals, Nathan, mineralogist/gemologist John I. Koivula and I have a new quarterly column premiering in the same issue: "G&G Micro-World" https://www.gia.edu/gems-gemology/summer-2015-microworld-introduction-gems
